Talk about getting off on the wrong foot—the Armada gave up seven runs in the first inning of their home series opener against the Edmonton Capitals, on way to an 11-1 loss.  The Fleet drops to 9-8 on the season.

Scott Lonergan collected the loss and falls to 2-2 on the season as he gave up seven runs in the first inning, although only one was earned because of a Matt Edgecomb error to start the game.

The Capitals scored 11 runs on 16 hits as they improved to 12-11 on the season. Louis Pote had a good outing for Edmonton, allowing just one run over seven innings of work.

Long Beach is now 2-2 against Edmonton on the season. The Armada look to bounce back in the second game of the three game set Tuesday night at 7:05pm at Blair Field.
