Long Beach State jumped out to an 8-1 lead against Pacific and then pulled away with an eight-run fourth, defeating the Tigers 19-6. The victory gives Long Beach State its third conference series win.

The Dirtabags had seven players with multiple hits, including Jonathan Jones and Steve Tinoco who each had three hits on the night. Tinoco also tied for the team lead in RBI and runs scored, scoring four times and driving in four RBI.

After the Dirtbags went down in order in the first, Devin Lohman got the merry-go-round started in the second inning for Long Beach State with a leadoff walk. Long Beach State loaded the bases and Tinoco singled to get The Beach on the board, and three more would come home to score in the inning.

Pacific put a run across in the second, but Long Beach State answered with another big inning. Tinoco doubled home two runs, and two sacrifice flies added two more as Long Beach State took an 8-1 lead.

Three straight singles and two errors in the third led to two Pacific runs, keeping the Tigers within striking distance through three innings. The Beach closed out any home in the fourth.

Tying a season record for their biggest inning of the year, Long Beach State scored eight runs to take a 16-3 lead after three and a half. The Dirtbags put eight straight runners on base to begin the inning, and all eight would come around to score. Legg, Kellen Hoime and Jones all doubled in the inning as Long Beach State knocked out two different Tiger pitchers in the inning.

Andrew Gagnon battled through six innings, giving up three earned runs and striking out three, earning his third win of the year. Both teams emptied their benches at that point, and Long Beach State went to the bullpen for the rest of the way.
