The Lakewood Lancers had a well-balanced attack, scoring in every inning but one, as they rolled to a 15-1 victory over Thousand Oaks in the Anaheim Lions Tournament.
Lakewood again drew first blood with three runs scored in the first inning on singles by Hunter Jones, Jeff Yamaguchi and Zach Alofaituli. Jones had a huge day, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI.
JP Crawford had a great day at the plate as well, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Crawford, Tyler Leidholdt, Jones and Yamaguchi scored in the second inning, two of them on a double by Anthony Razo, who was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI. In the third inning Jimmy Gosano (3-for-4, 3R, RBI) and Joseph Bernal (3-for-4, 2B, 2R, 3RBI) kept it rolling as the Lancers totaled 15 runs on 20 hits.
Shane Watson pitched six innings and allowed his first earned run of the season. The sophomore had pitched over 32 innings this season without allowing an earned run. Yesterday he struck out three Lancers, and allowed six hits and two walks. Nick Buska pitched a scoreless seventh.
