With Compton standing as Millikan’s only league game this week, Scott Glasser decided to throw his ace, Josh Frye, and he was resoundingly rewarded with a 17-2 victory.

“Well they’re ahead of us in the standings, and I wanted to make sure we had the right mentality,” said Glasser.  Frye gave up one earned run in four innings of work, allowing one hit while striking out nine and walking two.  He’s 3-1 overall and 2-1 in league.  Jordan Ybarra went yahtzee for Millikan, going 2-3 with a run, 5 RBI, a homerun, and a double.  “He flew out at the wall, hit one over the fence, and then doubled off the wall,” said Glasser.  Brett Beato, a senior who served as DH on Wednesday, was 2-4 with a double and an RBI.  Millikan scored seven runs in the third to get rolling and never looked back.

They now improve to 8-10-1 overall (3-2 in league) while Compton falls to 2-2 in league.  Millikan plays at Paramount tonight in a nonleague game, while Compton will play Poly at Blair at 3:30pm on Friday.
