Junior pitcher Roger Hockenson got the win as he struck out the side on nine pitches in the fifth inning before Robert Hurtado had his second hit of the day for the game-winning RBI in the sixth.
 
Cabrillo 8, Lynwood 1
The Jaguars racked up 14 hits and rode a big fly to a blowout victory, their first of the tournament.  With the bases loaded and one out in the sixth inning, Cabrillo pinch-hitter Wesley Madera came to the plate and sent a shot over the left-field fence for the “insurance runs” grand slam.  Louie Terrazas (3-4, 3B, 2RBI) Martin Agredano (3-3, R, SB) and Gerald Taylor (3-3, 2B, 2R) also shined at the plate.  Senior pitcher Daniel Martinez got his first victory of the year by going the distance while scattering four hits and striking out three.
