Chrsitian Verdugo and Tony Bell led the Cabrillo Jaguars to victory over Wilson on Wednesday, 53-36, earning them their first Moore League victory of the year. Verdugo, in Cabrillo coach Jim Nielsen’s view, played his best game in two years, adding 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals to go with his game-leading 17 points .Tony Bell had 14 points and 5 rebounds to compliment Verdugo’s effort. Javon Pearson once again led the Jags in rebounding with 7. Cabrillo is 11-4 overall and 1-2 in league.
Scoring leaders for Wilson were Stephan Sheperd, with 13, and Andre Crenshaw, who added 8. Wilson is 9-8 overall, and 0-4 in league.
The Jags will host Millikan on Friday, while Wilson will take a bye to try and get right on Friday, before hosting Jordan on Wednesday.
