On the third day of the Ocean View Tournament of Champions, the Jordan Panthers got their first win of the tournament while Lakewood and Compton both lost.  All three teams play again on Friday, Jordan will also play tonight at 8pm against Clovis West.

The Panthers opened play in the OVTOC early game against St. Mary’s and escaped with a 70-69 victory. Jesse Jones and Isiah Hicks led Jordan to a 36-29 lead at halftime, but the Knights came charging back in the third quarter.  The Jordan defense late in the game proved to be the difference.

In the 7pm game, host Ocean View improved to 6-0 with a 75-64 victory over the Lakewood Lancers.  Ocean View seniors Ryan Okwudibonye and Avery Johnson had 19 and 17 points respectively.

In the final game of the night, Compton took a lead into the fourth quarter, but Leuzinger played their best ball in the last stanza and finished the day with an impresive comeback victory over the Tarbabes, 74-65.
