The 2009 All-CIF list is official for boys’ soccer, and we usually don’t do this, but I’ve got a problem with this list.  We always joke that the CIF honors are saved for the teams who last longest in the playoffs.  Most of the time that’s true, and fair.  The best players are on the best teams, and the best coaches manage the best teams.  But are you really going to tell me that Cabrillo, Jordan and Wilson can all get to the playoffs (Jordan and Wilson winning three games) and not get a single name on this list?  Millikan is the only Long Beach school on here, while Servite (who beat Wilson in the second round with PKs) gets four names on it.  Something is just not right there.  One made penalty kick should not decide whether you get 36% percent of your starting lineup, or none.  Just sayin’….
