On Monday, Moore League boys’ golf top three teams traveled south to play in the CIF Southern Team Divisional at Tijeras Creek Golf Club (Par 72) in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. The Wilson Bruins posted their second best team score of the season as they finished with a one over par team score of 361 to finish in second place out of the field of 18 teams. Millikan finished in 13th place, and Lakewood finished 17th.
Servite High School won its second straight Southern Team Divisional and Servite junior, Patrick Cantlay, shot the low round of the day as he finished with an eight under par round of 64.
Servite, Wilson, and Riverside Poly all advance to the CIF Team Finals on Thursday at Rancho San Marcos Golf Club in Santa Barbara, CA. The CIF Team Finals will feature the 21 best teams in the CIF Southern Section. This is the second year in a row the Bruins have advanced to the team finals as they were the runner-up in 2008 at the CIF Southern Team Divisional as well.
Wilson’s Boris Stantchev posted the second lowest score of the day as he made four birdies during his three under par round of 69. Bruins Jake Hutton (71) Scott Parkin (73) and freshman Andrew Morgan (73) each finished in the top 10.
Millikan top finisher was Gustavo Huerta (78) and for Lakewood, Justin Youngblood (79).
