Rams coach Lorene Morgan had expressed some pre-game trepidation about Los Osos’ center, the 6’4″ Cierra Warren, who is North Carolina-bound.  Utilizing great defense by Hilary Drinovsky and Candice Menefee, the Rams held Warren to just 8 points, part of an excellent overall defensive effort in the second-round win, 38-26.

Jaslyn Cosey was the Rams’ leading scorer with 12 points, and her zone-penetrating slashes in the third quarter helped pick Los Osos apart.

The win sends fourth-seeded Millikan (24-4) to sixth-seeded Perris, out in the Inland Empire, meaning that once again, the road back to the CIF championships for Millikan is, well, a lot longer than it is for most (they already had a trip to Quartz Hill in the first round).  The quarterfinal match will be on Wednesday, at 7:30pm.
