The Lakewood Lancers girls’ soccer team hit the road for their first round playoff game, and the El Toro Chargers hit back.  Lakewood got caught on its heels in the first five minutes, and El Toro tallied two scores on the way to the 5-1 win.

Coach Scott Manson talked about his young squad after the game. “You could tell in the first five minutes… looked like they were nervous and just shell-shocked.  We gave up two bad defensive mistakes… then we played with them and settled down.”

The game was a synopsis of a season where the young Lancers got better every time they took the field.  However, down 4-1 at half was too much for Lakewood to overcome.  Obviously, the Big Red Machine will return almost the entire squad next year.
