Lakewood def. West Ranch, 10-8
The Lancers have been speeding since sweeping the Moore League Finals, and Suzy Tan is behind the wheel. The Long Beach singles champion swept while Mackenzie Thorpe and Kellie Prowant also went undefeated to lead the Lancers to a victory in the second round. Lakewood improved to 12-3 on the season and will face Valencia.
Wilson def.by South Pasadena, 11-7
It’s that time of year, and the flu made it’s way into the Bruin tennis locker room last week. WIlson’s top singles player, Natasha Smith, couldn’t go because of illness. Meanwhile between the lines, Sheela and Annalea Ignacio went 3-0 in doubles, but the Bruins dropped the rest of their singles matches.
Poly def. by San Luis Obispo, 11-7
Miquela Newhart and Ciara won all three of the doubles sets, but the Jackrabbits were unable to overcome a balanced SLO attack that won all but four of the singles.
