Millikan got a taste of the elite as they fell to the bracket’s top seed Vista Murrieta, 12-0.  The Rams got three hits and had scoring opportunities, but couldn’t push one across.

“We lost to a very good team on their home field,” said Millikan coach Don Harper.  “(The score) really is not reflective of how we played.  I thought we played well, but had one bad inning.

The score was 4-0 until the bottom of the 5th when the Broncos exploded for eight runs in the inning.  They smashed five home runs in the game.

“I was proud of our efforts,” said Harper.  “I wouldn’t be surprised if (Vista) made a long run through the playoffs.  They play solid defense, have good pitching, and obviously can hit.  It was a great opportunity to show our girls where we want to be in the future.”

The Priddie sisters, Christen and Courtney, got two hits in the sixth inning to break up a no-hit bid, but that was the highlight of the day for the young Jackrabbits.
