Former/Current USC offensive mastermind and future/current University of Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian has made a habit of hanging out on championship sidelines, as a Trojan and now as a recruiter for the Huskies.
He was there last night to see De La Salle/Centennial and he was shaking hands with Raul Lara as the final seconds ticked off the clock last week. But his recruiting pull reaches further than the teams still playing as Talia Crichton of Lakewood decided on UW after Sarkisian visited his house this week.
“I like that he wants to turn it around up there,” said Crichton of Sarkisian. “He’s all business.”
For those who know Lakewood football, it’s not a surprise that Crichton would choose Sarkisian and UW. Like coach Thadd MacNeal, Sarkisian is an excitable guy trying to take a program to the top of his conference. Sarkisian will have a harder time of it, of course, but with Crichton, it’ll be a little easier.
We did a story about Crichton earlier this season, that you can read here. Also, for you ‘Dawg fans, check out all the Lakewood highlights like the Poly/Lakewood semifinal below.
Congratulations, Talia!
