After a dramatic victory last week in the season opener, the St. Anthony football team came crashing back down to earth last night at Clark Field.  The Saints turned the ball over four times and fell to Brentwood, 20-7.

The defense played well early and the Saints were only down 7-0 a few minutes before the end of the half.  However, they tried to take a shot down the field and Brentwood took the first of three interceptions back to the house for a two-touchdown lead at halftime.

“We just didn’t execute tonight,” said coach Brian Walsh.  “It’s disappointing, but we have to just try to limit those mistakes.”

Running back Thomas Brown carried the ball 14 times for 113 yards and the lone touchdown, but the turnovers quelled any chance for the Saints to make a comeback.

St. Anthony will be home again next week at Clark Field at 7pm.
