Several former professional basketball stars will be participating this summer as coaches in the Pete Davis Legends Basketball Camp at the Alpert Jewish Community Center in Long Beach.  The camp is open to boys and girls throughout the community, ages 6-14.

Former NBA players participating in the camp include its founder, Pete Davis, Mike “Crusher” Davis, five-time NBA All-Star Marques Johnson and former Los Angeles Laker champion and two-time NBA All-Star, Norm Nixon.  WNBA draft prospect and a star on several professional European women’s basketball teams, Brittanie Taylor-James, will also be participating as a coach in the camp.  Participants will learn basketball fundamentals and skills through individual and group instruction as well as scrimmages and lectures.

“These two week-long camps are the result of the tremendous response that we’ve received from the kids and the community for the AJCC/Pete Davis Youth Basketball League,” commented former Michigan State and NBA player, Pete Davis.  The camp gets underway on July 9, and runs for 4 days, from 9:00AM to 12:00PM each day.  The second week-long session of the camp begins on July 16.  For further information, parents may call the Alpert JCC at 562-426-7601 or email [email protected]
