The 42nd Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is closer than you think.
Though the event is still six months away, tickets for the event go on sale Monday at 10:00AM, organizers announced today.
Set to take place April 15-17, the 2016 Grand Prix’s climactic race will be the Verizon IndyCar Series. Expected participants include defending series champion and Long Beach winner Scott Dixon, past Long Beach winners Helio Castroneves, Juan Pablo Montoya, Will Power, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Takuma Sato, in addition to Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal, according to a release issued by race organizers.
But wait—there’s more. Especially for celebrity aficionados.
Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, which will once again include an all-star roster of past winners and participants, racing for charity like they have since the race’s inception.
“With the 40th anniversary Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, plus everything else we have to offer, the 2016 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will be an event to remember,” said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach in a statement. “As the number one street race in America combined with all that the City of Long Beach has to offer, the Grand Prix will again be the best family entertainment value in Southern California.”
The weekend will also include the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, with the stop sports cars in North America racing for the crown, the KMC Wheels Super Drift Challenge, light by night racing lights on Friday and Saturday, the SPEED Energy Off-Road Series starring Robby Gordon jumping his super trucks and the Pirelli World Challenge.
Free concerts on Friday and Saturday, in addition to a Lifestyle Expo featuring a Family Fun Zone are sure to light up the faces of the whole family, especially with the kid car racing, computer games and action sports on hand for entertainment. Food trucks and the Mothers Exotic Car Paddock are sure to round out the weekend for lovers of the annual event, both old and new.
Tickets range from $30 for a Friday General Admission ticket to $142 for a three-day ticket, which includes Saturday and Sunday reserved seating in the grandstand upper levels. Pre-paid parking packages are also available along with handicapped seating. Other packages include Verizon IndyCar Paddock access passes, Super Photo tickets and a variety of Hospitality Club packages.
