The Lakewood Lancers are feeling good right now, and most of that has to do with the 3-0 first-place league record after the 3-0 victory over Millikan (2-1) yesterday afternoon at Lakewood High. The Lancers got goals from Kassidy Hause and Elizabeth Pielaat and stayed in control from whistle to whistle.
“The girls got pumped up for this one, and it showed,” said Lakewood coach Scott Manson, who was particularly pleased with the play of his back line. “We’re in a good place mentally, and fitness wise… when this team is ready to play they’re tough.”
Amanda Bolanos and Marissa Marsh were especially tough according to Manson, and the Millikan offense and Lexi Braner couldn’t get anything going.
The Lancers will play Valley Christian on Thursday and return to Moore League play next week with Jordan, WIlson and then Poly.
