Lakewood High continued its dominance over Moore League competitors after winning a school-record nine Moore League titles last Saturday at Millikan.

Ryan Bautista (112), Kimo Napohaku (125), Steven Araujo (130), Nick Martinez (152), Ryne Griswold (160), Chase Mirrasou (171), John Barrera (189), Oscar Rivera (215) and heavyweight Carlos Rivera all won individual honors.  Millikan’s James Kuwata (103), Abel Moran (140) and Nick Pena (145) all won championships via pin fall.  Millikan’s Pena picked up his 30th pin of the season to capture a championship, and Rams coach Marshall Thompson is now just two wins shy of 600 over his career at Mark Keppel and Millikan.

Poly will send six wrestlers to the Individual Meet and had the Preciado brothers win titles on Saturday, as Sergio Preciado (119) and Jesus Preciado (135) came out on top of their brackets.

Wilson High is sending a school-record 10 wrestlers to the CIF Individual Meet and had runner-up performances from Tyler Gay (135), Miguel Peralta (171), Cameron Shepherd (189) and Ignacio Mundo (215).

The top three placers in each division advanced to the CIF Individual Meet at John Glenn High on Feb 21.  The Lancers ran the league slate undefeated and will go to the CIF team duals Feb. 14 at Montclair with second-place Millikan.  Lakewood will take on Coachella Valley, second seed from the Desert Valley League, and Millikan will face Ayala, the Sierra League champs.  Action starts at 11am.
