Hooves and heels descended onto the Long Beach Convention Center over the weekend for multiple nights of glamour and equestrian competitions during the Longines Masters of Los Angeles.
High-profile guests to the four-day event even included celebs like Selma Blair, Dave Grohl, William Shatner, Iggy Azalea and Kaley Cuoco—who doubled up as a rider competing with some of the best equestrians in the world.
Check out the winners for these world-class and action packed equestrian competitions:
Longines Speed Challenge: Nayel Nassar and Lordan finishing with a time of 63.47, followed by Kevin Staut at 63.90 and Samuel Parot at 65.18.
City of Long Beach Trophy: Steve Guerdat took home the top prize with a time of 33.83 seconds.
Emirates Gold Cup: Kevin Staut and Elky van het Indihof HDC won the show jumping competition with a time of 35.52 seconds, and Simon Delestre and Julien Epaillard came in second and third.
Pro-Am Style & Competition for Charity: Nayel Nassar and Sloan Elmassian won the competition for their charity of choice, the equine-related therapy organization Ride On, dressing as disco kings with afros.
The team with the best style was decided by a celebrity jury composed of Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan, Lawrence Zarian, and entertainment reporter Sam Rubin, according to a release. Winners were judged on the number of penalties, the teams’ style and elegance, as well as the horses’ style.
Longines Grand Prix: Daniel Deusser and Equita van’t Zorgvliet completed the course with a time of 37.67 seconds, followed by Nayel Nassar and Harrie Smolders who took second and third place, respectively.
If Deusser manages to win the Grand Prix in Paris and Hong Kong, he will make history by earning the brand new Super Grand Slam Bonus of $2.25 million euros.
“I knew I had to try everything to beat [the time] and I took all the risks. She played the game today and she was amazing,” Deusser said during a news conference afterward, crediting his 12-year-old horse.
Now that the 2016 Longines Masters of Los Angeles has ended, participants will begin to look to Paris where the Longines Masters will take place December 1-4, and then Hong Kong for the grand finale of the season February 10-12, 2017.
