We reported on Monday that Lakewood running back Jerry Stone had been arrested for a serious criminal offense.  As of that report, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office was deciding if they would try to prosecute Stone as a minor or as an adult. (Click Here For Our Original Report)

This morning at the Compton Superior Court’s Juvenile Division, the DA filed for a fitness hearing and Stone appeared for his arraignment.  He has been charged for that serious criminal offense (nine total counts) but the court has not decided if the DA will prosecute Stone as a minor or as an adult.  The case would be “continued” and the next court date is scheduled for October 1st.  Stone will remain in custody at the Compton Juvenile Facility until that date.

If any news breaks concerning Stone, we will report it, but this season we will not be mentioning Stone or this unfortunate situation in our Lakewood football articles.  Again, we hope you will comment on this article, and future articles, with restraint and maturity.  This is a courtesy we would extend any player or school involved in a situation like this.
