It was a tale of two halves at LBCC on Sunday—the Vikings dominated the first half of their match against Santiago Canyon, outshooting them 10-1, and scoring on a Jesse casteneda goal assisted by Mann Bautitsta. Omarou Idrissa Boubakar was excellent as well, winning headers and feeding nice passes into the box—the defense was up too, keeping their keeper relaxed and only allowing three shots on goal.

Then, the second half—focus slipped, and the Vikings gave up a goal on a PK hand-ball in the 50th minute, and scored later on a cross.  The Vikings pressed for the last fifteen minutes but couldn’t get it past the Santiago goalie, who finished with nine saves.  Next week, the Vikings face two big challenges on the road in Rio Hondo, and Orange Coast College—they’ll be hoping to make the whole match look like their first 45 minutes.

Thanks as always to co-head coach Pat Noyes for the info!
