10:15am | The Long Beach City College men’s volleyball team continued its dominance early in the season as the Vikings cruised to a 3-0 sweep over visiting Palomar College on Wednesday.

LBCC won the non-conference match by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-15 to improve to 5-0 this season. Long Beach has swept four of its five opponents this season and has won 15 of 16 sets.

Freshman outside hitter Jo’Lon Clark (Poly HS) ked the Vikings with 12 kills. Freshman outside hitter Jonathan Schaefer (Serra HS) posted seven kills, two blocks, and an ace. Sophomore setter/opposite Max Wechsung (St. John Bosco HS) totaled eight kills, four blocks, and 21 assists.

The Vikings return to action on Friday (Feb 17) when they travel to San Diego City College for a 6 pm non-conference match.
