10:00pm | Freshman forward Rayven Sellers scored 13 points and grabbed a season-high 22 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as the Long Beach City College women’s basketball team fell to visiting El Camino College 60-41 in a South Coast Conference South Division game on Tuesday night at the Hall of Champions Gym.
The loss dropped Long Beach to 3-17 overall and 0-3 in the SCC South while El Camino improved to 5-14 and 1-2 in division play.
Poor shooting once again hurt the Vikings. LBCC shot just 25 percent 16 for 62) from the field for the game and was 1 for 12 on three-point attempts.
El Camino held a 36-20 advantage at halftime and never looked back.
Sellers added six assists and three steals to her impressive night. Freshman forward Lynnsie Naulls also chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds.
Guard Kay Hurd led El Camino with 15 points and guard Yacine Meyer added 12 points and eight rebounds.
LBCC is at Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday at 5:30 pm for a SCC interdivison game and closes out the home schedule on Friday at 5:30 pm against L.A. Southwest.
