The Long Beach City College women’s golf team shot 366 to finish in second place in a four-team Foothill Conference match at El Dorado Golf Course last Wednesday.  LBCC was 10 points behind first-place Palomar College (356) and was followed by College of the Desert (368) in third and Mt. San Antonio College in fourth (370).  Sophomore Karen Griffith led the Vikings with her 88 card on the par-72 course.

Olivia Roux, 136.  Earning individual medalist honors was Cora Busby of Palomar with a round of 78.

In their last match (Sept. 17), the Vikings shot 362 to finish in fourth at their Foothill Conference match opener at Mission Lakes Country Club in Desert Hot Springs.  Palomar was first with 334, followed by Desert (344) and Mt. SAC (344).  Kathy Ree led Long Beach with an 88 card, followed one stroke back by Karen Sawyer at 89.  Other scores for the Vikings:

Olivia Roux, 126.  Mt. SAC’s Kristina Moraga shot 78 to earn individual medalist honors.

After two conference matches, Palomar sits atop the Foothill team standings with eight points. LBCC, Mt. SAC, and Desert are all tied for second place with four points.  The LBCC women’s golf team returns to action on Monday (Sept. 29) with a practice match at El Prado Golf Course in Chino. Foothill Conference play resumes on Wednesday (Oct. 1) with conference match No. 3 at El Prado.
