The Long Beach State men’s golf team will take part in the 11th annual Stevinson Ranch Invitational hosted by the University of Colorado, Apr. 6-7, at the Stevinson Ranch Golf Club in Stevinson, Calif. Both days will begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on the par-72, 7,142-yard course.

The 54-hole tournament will feature a 14 teams from Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Stanislaus, Colorado, Loyola Marymount, Missouri, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Portland, Saint Mary’s, Sacramento State, San Francisco, South Dakota State, UMKC and Washington State.

The 49ers are coming off from a ninth-place finish at last week’s 63rd annual Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz. LBSU shot a 306 in the first two rounds and came back on the final day with a 297 to finish 69-over 909.

Junior Michael Drake was the top player for LBSU for the fourth consecutive tournament as he tied for 29th with a 15-over 225 (76-76-73), followed by Steve Gibson and Kevin Roy as both players tied for 37th with a 227.

The Stevinson Ranch Invitational marks the last regular-season tournament for the 49ers, as the Big West Conference Championships will be next on the schedule for LBSU as it will take place April 20-21, in San Luis Obispo.
