Long Beach State scored three goals in the final quarter but could not make up from an early deficit in a 6-4 loss at No. 12 UC Santa Barbara.

Long Beach State picked up a goal each from its leading scorers in Krizia CerdaLauren Sieprath and Katie RogersKristen Stragier made nine saves for The Beach.

It was UC Santa Barbara that took an early lead at home however, taking a 3-0 lead after the first quarter and expanding that edge to 5-0 before halftime. The teams each tallied a goal in the third quarter before Long Beach State would cut the lead to two in the final period.

Long Beach State returns home for two more Big West conference matchups next weekend, hosting UC Davis and Pacific.
