Women’s Water Polo jumped out to an early lead in their second Big West game, but couldn’t hold on in an overtime game against the Aggies.

Long Beach State took an early lead over the Aggies, scoring three goals in the first period, and taking a 5-2 lead into halftime.

UC Davis cut into the lead, outscoring the 49ers in the third before tying the match in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime.

Neither team scored in the opening overtime period, but in the second period the Aggies scored the winning goal to hold on for the home victory.

The 49ers return to the Campus Pool next weekend, hosting Cal State Northridge on Saturday, April 11 in the team’s only game of the weekend. That contest is scheduled to begin at Noon.
