How sweep it is.

The 49ers completed a three-game road sweep through Portland State and the Univ. of Washington with a dominating 7-2 win over the Huskies on Saturday night. Sean Hoang, Scott Byrum, and Joe Nalley each had two goals and Tanner Woodbury added one more. Alex Miklovic fought off the Husky attack for his second win of the trip.

The hero of the weekend was Matt Kresky, who underwent an emergency appendectomy on Thursday while the 49ers were playing against Portland State. What started as a stomach ache progressed into severe pains which led to a hospital visit and subsequent surgery. Kresky recovered quickly and was still able to catch up to the team in Seattle. The team autographed his hospital gown painted with his #15, which he must continue to wear now that 49ers have won three in a row. Long Beach has also won 7 of their last 8 going back to November 2009.

Action resumes next weekend in Long Beach on Friday 1/15 @ 7:20pm and Saturday 1/16 at 3pm, both against UCLA.
