Long Beach State Women’s Tennis (13-5, 6-0) is entering familiar territory.  After a victory over UC Santa Barbara on Thursday, the Beach can clinch the top seed in the Big West Tournament with a win at Cal Poly today at 1:30pm.  The Beach is chasing its fifth-straight Big West Tournament Championship, and is two wins away from going undefeated in the Big West regular season.

On Thursday against the Gauchos, Long Beach fell behind after the doubles matches.  But, Hannah Grady set the tone with a win in number one singles, 6-0, 6-2, and as the match came to a close, it was up to freshman Stephanie Jeanes.  After winning the first point in a tie brake, Jeanes won the second point, 6-4, winning the game and the match for Long Beach, 4-3.  Meanwhile, senior Stephanie Bengson moved to within a single victory of the all-time singles record at Long Beach State.

The ladies will travel up the 101 to take on Cal Poly today.
