This week the ninth-ranked Long Beach State men’s water polo (0-1) will travel to Palo Alto, Calif. to participate in the 2009 NorCal Tournament (Sept. 19-20), hosted by Stanford.
The 49ers will be in Bracket A, along with No. 1 USC, No. 8 UC Irvine, and Pomona. Long Beach State begins the NorCal Tournament against UC Irvine Saturday, at 9:50 am PT at Belardi Pool. Depending on the outcome of the first game, the 49ers will then either play at 1:50 pm PT or 3:10 pm PT. The tournament then continues Sunday, September 20.

LAST WEEK: Long Beach State is currently ranked ninth in the country and eighth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Conference, having lost to defending national champion USC last weekend by a score of 12-3. Three 49ers scored goals in the match, and goalie Derek Wiebe-Bailey nabbed 7 saves.
