The Long Beach State men’s basketball team will have at least 10 games, and possibly as many as 12, televised this season. The Beach will play on both ESPN and Fox Sports channels during the 2009-10 season.

LBSU’s first television games will come as a part of the 76 Classic over Thanksgiving weekend in Anaheim. The 49ers’ opening game against West Virginia will be aired on ESPNU with their second and third games on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. The Beach will get a fourth straight game on an ESPN network when ESPNU carries Long Beach State’s Dec. 7 game at Texas.

The 49ers will have two more non-league games televised when Fox Sports South carries the Kentucky game and FSS broadcasts the Duke game.

At least four Long Beach State conference games will be carried on television. ESPNU will broadcast the 49ers home game against Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 4. FSN West will televise two Beach home games, Feb. 6 against Cal State Northridge and March 5 against UC Riverside. FSN Prime Ticket is scheduled to televise LBSU’s Feb. 11 game at Cal Poly.

There is a chance two other Long Beach State games might be broadcast as well. ESPN2 will choose a “wild card” game on Jan. 30 from one of four Big West sites with LBSU’s home game against UC Davis under consideration. The Beach’s road BracketBuster game also could be picked up by ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN360.com.
