Bidding farewell to two of the most decorated seniors in school history, the 49ers fell 6-1 to Fresno State on Senior Day at the Rhodes Tennis Center. Hannah Grady and Jessica Weeks both competed in their final home match Saturday.

Facing a tough Fresno State squad, Long Beach State picked up a doubles win at No. 3 doubles as Rachel Manasse and Anais Dallara defeated Paes/Pola in a close 9-8 match, and nearly took the point as Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton lost to #16 Gloria /Rowe by the same margin, 9-8.

In singles, the 49ers dropped the top three matches to ranked opponents, but Dallara scored the team’s lone point at No. 4, defeating Tinesta Rowe 6-2, 6-3.

The 49ers will hit the road next week for two matches, travelling to Northern California to take on Pacific and UC Davis to conclude the team’s conference action. Long Beach State holds a 6-0 record in Big West play.
