The Long Beach State track and field team had five athletes compete on the final day of the NCAA West Preliminary meet Saturday afternoon at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Sophomore Katrina Graves-Johnson led a trio of 49ers in the high jump as she tied for 14th, clearing a lifetime-best 5-08.50. Sophomore Sara Macey tied for 28th at 5-06.50, while junior Tayler O’Connor recorded a height of 5-04.50.

Junior Cesar Puga finished 24th overall in the discus (169-01), while junior Kevin Jenkins took 42nd in the triple jump (47-02.50).

Long Beach State returns to action in two weeks when seniors Alex Shaw (javelin) and Kenneth Medwood (400H) and junior Randi Hicks (javelin) head to Eugene, Ore., for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
