The Long Beach State women’s golf carded a seven-over par 295 in Tuesday’s second round of the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate to finish in sixth place. Playing at the par-72, 6,261 yard George Fazio Course at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii, the 49ers improved by one-stroke to have a two-day score of 591 (+15).

UC Davis continues to lead the field of 18 teams as the Aggies (571) are five-under and hold a six-shot lead over second place California (577) and 10 shots over third place UCLA and Southern California (581).

Simone Hoey sizzled in the second round as she fired a three-under 69 to move up in the standings from 13th to fifth. Hoey recorded her first eagle as a 49er as it came at the par-five, 475 yard 17th hole. She also carded three birdies and two bogeys for the day.

Reece Feducia shot a 75 to tie for 25th, while Noelle Zavaleta shot a 76 to tie for 28th.

Lindsey McAtee improved by two shots with a 75 to move up in the standings from 54th to tie for 38th andBrenda Chhuor recorded an identical score of 76 to move up from 43rd to tie for 38th.

Demi Runas of UC Davis sits on top of the leaderboard as she leads the field of 94 players with a 137 and holds a one-stroke lead over two players tied for second place.
