After two rounds of play at the Anteater Invitational, the Long Beach State women’s golf finds themselves in fourth place after shooting a 310 and 308 for a 36-hole total of 618 (+50) at the par-71, 5,960 yard Dove Canyon Country Club in Dove Canyon, Calif.

The 49ers have a one-stroke lead over tournament host No. 38 UC Irvine (619) as the Anteaters sit in fifth and an 11-stroke advantage over No. 40 Idaho (629) as the Vandals are tied for sixth with Fresno State.

Forty-eighth ranked San Diego State leads the field of 15 teams with a 599 (+31) as the Aztecs hold a six shot lead over No. 43 San Francisco and Kentucky (605) and 19 shots over the 49ers.

Leading the way for LBSU, was freshman Simone Hoey as she carded a 77 and 74 for a 151 (+9) to tie for 13th, while sophomore Monica Villarreal recorded rounds of 78 and 76 for a 154 (+12) to tie for 20th.

Junior Lindsey McAtee finished third for The Beach as she shot a 75 and 81 for a 156 (+14) to tie for 26th, while senior Brenda Chhuor tied for 31st with rounds of 80 and 78 for a 158 (+16).

Sophomore Noelle Zavaleta tied for 51st with a 20-over 162 (82-80).

Hillary Packard of UC Irvine and Christine Wong of San Diego State sit on top of the leaderboard with a 143 (+1) with a three-stroke lead over Kayla Mortellaro of Idaho at 146 (+4).
