The Long Beach State women’s soccer team concluded their spring season unbeaten in nine contests with an impressive record of 6-0-3. The 49ers scored 20 goals, while giving up just three.

The returning core, which included 16 newcomers from 2009, came into the spring season ready to work hard to prepare for the fall.

“It was a very positive spring for us,” said 49er head coach Mauricio Ingrassia. “We have a good schedule set up for us this fall, and we are very excited for the start of preseason camp on Aug. 4.”

Long Beach State kicks off the 2010 campaign with an exhibition match against San Diego State on Aug. 14. LBSU then welcomes BYU to George Allen Field for its official season opener on Aug. 20.
