Lauren Sieprath scored two goals to lead the Long Beach State 49ers in a, 8-5, loss to No. 10 San Diego State in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon at the Long Beach State 49er Campus Pool.
Long Beach State (3-6) trailed San Diego State, 4-3, late in the third period before the Aztecs scored four of the next five goals to put the game out of reach. The Aztecs (9-2), were led by Melissa Matheson, Leanne Ford, and Katie Rogers who each scored two goals for San Diego State.
The Beach got goals from four different players including Sieprath, Branwyn Lee, Claire Martin, and Meaghan Leonard.
Goalie Kristen Stragier had five saves for The Beach.
Long Beach State’s next game is February 27 at the UC Irvine Tournament.
