As they try to gain momentum headed into the Big West Tournament, the Long Beach State women’s basketball team (8-19, 4-10 BWC) closes out the regular season at home this week with a pair of Big West Conference games.

The 49ers welcome Cal Poly to the Walter Pyramid for a 7pm showdown on Thursday, March 5, before returning to the court two days later when they take on UCSanta Barbara at 5pm. Seniors Kaiti O’Brien and Lynea Williams will be honored after their final home game on Saturday.

Long Beach State leads in its all-time series with Cal Poly, 34-12. The Mustangs topped the 49ers, 74-66, in San Luis Obispo earlier in the year. LBSU owns an 18-3 home record against Cal Poly.  The Beach trails in its series with UCSanta Barbara, 40-39, and has come up short in the last six meetings between the two teams. The Gauchos won the first game of the season series, 66-48, in Santa Barbara on Jan. 2. The 49ers are 22-17 when playing UCSBon their home court.
