It feels good to be home!  After a 2-2 swing out to Utah and Arizona, the 49ers are 2-0 in their last two games at home, bringing their home record to 5-1-1.  Long Beach got off to an early lead and held on to the victory, defeating Pacific 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at George Allen Field.  LBSU’s record is now 8-3-2.

Hayley Bolt opened up the scoring in the 12th minute, following a bicycle kick from Sahar Haghdan. It was Bolt’s fifth goal of the season and Haghdan’s third assist of the year.  Kim Silos sealed the win with a 15-foot goal in the 57th minute. Silos’ goal moved her up to second on the team in scoring with six goals.

LBSU dominated on offense outshooting the Tigers 21-9. Lindsay Bullock and Silos each took four shots apiece, while Dana Farquhar, and Bolt each took three. Liz Ramos carried the team on defense with four saves. The Tigers only took four shots in the second half.  Pacific had their only goal in the 64th minute. Kristina Wavomba headed the ball in the net off a direct kick from Kylee Ah Choy.

The 49ers will continue their home stand next week as they take on San Diego on Wednesday at 3 p.m. and UC Irvine next Sunday at 2pm.
