Caitlin Ledoux’s record-setting night against UC Riverside when the 49ers needed it the most helped her earn the Big West Player of the Week for last week.

Ledoux, a sophomore outside hitter from Phelan, Calif., became just the fourth player in the nation to record more than 30 kills in a four-set match this season with 33 against UC Riverside in a 3-1 win. Ledoux’s 33 kills were a career-high for the sophomore and the most kills for a 49er since Tayyiba Haneef in 2000. Ledoux became just the third player in school history to reach 33 kills, joining Haneef and Tara Cross, who hit the mark five times. She also added nine digs and two aces against the Highlanders.

Against Cal State Northridge, Ledoux went over 20 kills for just the fifth time in her career and just missed a 20-20, finishing with 21 kills and 19 digs, leading the team in both categories. Over the course of the week, Ledoux averaged 6.00 kills per set and 3.11 digs per set.

The honor is the first for Caitlin Ledoux in her career, and the second for a Long Beach State player in 2009.Naomi Washington was named the Big West Player of the Week on Sept. 14 following an All-Tournament performance in her hometown of New Orleans, La.
