When the college football BCS national championship game kicks off on Monday between Auburn and Oregon, it’s a given that Legend’s Sports Bar on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore will be packed.
But what you might not expect is that the players, coaches and commentators will all be there, too.
Legend’s is partnering with DirecTV, LG and Panasonic to broadcast the game in 3D.
Panasonic is providing an HD 3D projection screen and projector, while LG will outfit the upstairs balcony with several 3D televisions. Legend’s will hand out 3D glasses to those in attendance. The screen that Panasonic is bringing to the event is their only one, Legend’s says.
“The viewing and clarity of the picture is incredible,” said Gene Rotondo, owner of Legend’s, in a statement. “It offers another dynamic to sports viewing that fulfills every sports fan’s fantasy.”
The sports bar is not taking reservations, so it would be best to arrive early for the 5:30pm kickoff.
