It’s that time of year again, and we’re getting our first taste of what football recruiting in LA will look like for the foreseeable future.   It’s been Pete Carroll/USC territory for awhile now, but coach Rick Neuheisel and the UCLA Bruins think there’s room in this town for the both of ’em.

Long Beach Jordan’s Tani Maka is one of the first Moore League kids to get caught in this tug-of-war.  Maka was origionally thinking University of Arizona, but he played inspired ball in the Panthers first-round playoff game agaisnt Mater Dei in front of scouts from other Pac-10 schools.  Now, he’s got billiards and Bruins on the mind.
