10:00pm | Jordan and Cabrillo are both chasing playoff spots, and the close result yesterday afternoon reflected as much. Even though the Jaguars dominated chances throughout the game (out shooting the Panthers 15-to-3) the final minutes were tense, with Cabrillo escaping with a 1 –0 victory.
There was equal possession due to strong play from Jordan midfielders Luis Frais and Jose Cano, but they couldn’t get much pressure on the Cabrillo backline.
The Jaguars also got quality play from their midfield including Diego Rivero and Geo Cazal, but they were unable to capitalize on the opportunities provided in the run of play. “If we want to move forward in a playoff spot we’re going to need to finish a few of the quality chances,” said Cabrillo head coach Pat Noyes. “Squandered chances have come back to bite us in several key league games and must be addressed.”
The Jaguars have played only seven games and will not play their final make up game until next Friday at Compton. The Panthers will take on Wilson today.
