We’re done with two weeks of 2009-10 Moore League girls’ soccer season and all is as expected, so far…

Moore Leauge Girls’ Soccer: Week Two

LAKEWOOD (3-0, 16 goals for / 1 goal against)
The Lancers had a great week and are “feeling very good” after a spirited win over Millikan.  They have Jordan and Wilson next week.

WILSON (2-0-1, 18/2)
As rivalries go… the Jackrabbit/Bruin rumble in any sport is always a battle and on Tuesday local sports fans were treated to a classic.  In the tie, striker Emily Dillon worked hard for the equalizer but may have deserved more that that.  “She’s a leader just the way she plays,” says coach Jason Kirkwood.  Dillon’s hard work paid off for a few more teammates yesterday as she assisted on four scores in the 6-0 victory over Jordan. Sabrina Gomez scored twice and freshman Chloe Gharios had a goal and an assist. Photo Gallery

POLY (2-0-1, 15/3)
If you didn’t already, make sure you check out the video from Tuesday’s game with Wilson.  It’s one to remember.  After taking and giving the punishment in the rivalry two days before, the Jackrabbits had to go bang around with the Jaguars for a 2-0 win at Cabrillo.  Poly did it with early goals as Taylor-Erin Carter found Alexis Leyba in the third minute and Emily Strombom found Celeste Dominquez in the seventh minute.  The Jackrabbits outshot the Jaguars 7-to-2.

MILLIKAN (3-1, 12/4)
The Rams were out-worked by the Lancers on Tuesday, but they bounced back yesterday at Compton with a 5-0 victory. Kelly Johnson got the hat trick.

CABRILLO (0-3, 1/8)
The Jaguars tried to play a pressure defense on the Jackrabbits, but an early goal foiled the plan in a 2-0 loss.

JORDAN (0-3, 2/20)

COMPTON (0-3, 0/24)
