Story by J.J. Fiddler & Mike Guardabascio
Well, we’re in it now. Week two of the Moore League season is done. Could it get any better? Yes. And when it does, you know we’ll be there bringing you comprehensive coverage, pictures, and highlights of your favorite—and probably, your least favorite—team. Check out all the week two action below, plus the season’s first Moore League standings.
Cabrillo
They’re still showing a lot of promise, and they were much improved over last week’s crushing loss to Edison, but the Jaguars still couldn’t come up with a W, falling to 0-2 against Paramount. Click here to read about the game and watch the highlights.
Compton
Compton didn’t play this week, probably because they were so tired from running for nearly 500 yards last week! Seriously! And you can read all about it, just by clicking here.
Jordan
Jordan opened up their season at home against Beverly Hills this week, beating them by a score of 28-13. It wasn’t easy in the first half, but the second half proved that these black cats are worthy of the title “dark horse.” Click here to read about their victory, and to see the highlights.
Lakewood
Lakewood is good. Really good. Don’t believe us? How about that point differential of 35 after two games? Or the fact that they have nearly 1,000 yards of total offense? Click here to read about how Lakewood kept the red tide rolling against Peninsula.
Millikan
Once is a coincidence, twice is a habit—for the second straight week, Millikan has put themselves in a position to win the game late. Last week, they couldn’t pull it off. Could they this week? Yep. Click here to stop reading the preview and get to the actual article, already–plus, awesome pictures!
Poly
Poly is taking another week off after handing last year’s defending national champions their lunch. Didn’t read that article, or our preview of Poly’s 2008 season? Click here to go to the LBPOSTSports Poly home page.
Wilson
The road to redemption just got a little rockier. Wilson started out their season with a win, but fell to Pacifica this week. Click here to read about the Bruins’ battle with the Mariners.
