High winds at sea last week postponed Long Beach paralympian Angela Madsen’s second attempt at a trans-Pacific row.

Originally set to depart from Long Beach on Thursday, Angela Madsen and Tara Remington looked tan, fit and ready to row 2500 miles as local TV crews were ready to report the start of their Long Beach-to-Waikiki voyage, but the prospect of rowing directly into 30-mph headwinds put a temporary hold on their plans.

In addition, it was discovered that the increased water displacement caused by two rowers and their supplies will necessitate adjustments to the oars.

Madsen and Remington have rescheduled their departure from the the Pete Archer Rowing Center until Tuesday, May 20.
