At Marina Vista Park on Saturday children played flag football with parents cheering from the sideline. Running and laughing and falling down in big tangled heaps. Who was winning? Who was losing? Who cared? They played for the fun.
Dust Plus: Beating CSU Fullerton, Sweethearts of Soccer & Midnight Mania
Notes on My Napkin Time—(too many people and places to report on and too much TV tape to rewind.) While soccer is well beyond being a boutique sport, women’s volleyball has the history; tradition and crowd count in its favor.

Hanging in with High Hopes and We Haven’t Even Started Hoops
One of the fan favorite marketing promotions in the Pyramid is the scoreboard game where a kid wins by following the bouncing ball with the LB logo. Last weekend the kid actually found it, ignoring the usually good advice from the Beach Pep Band, and walked home the proud owner of some sort of sandwich. Other bouncing ball results, well not so good.
