Long Beach Poly, which fielded its first football team in 1908, plays tonight at Vet’s Stadium against the Broncos of Clovis North, a central valley school that this year fielded just its 4th senior class. The two teams were selected by the C.I.F. to contend in this year’s new state playoff system. The winner of tonight’s game will play in the state regional championship game next weekend at Home Depot Center.
