Everyone involved with the St. Anthony football program wants to forget the 26-0 loss last week to Salesian and the subsequent jawing at midfield. This week, the Saints (4-4, 0-2) will try to wash the bad taste out and get on the right side of .500 as they travel to play a St. Monica team (2-5, 0-3) that has struggled as of late.
The Mariners rely heavily on QB/DB Matthew Partyka. The 5’7″ 155lb junior has almost 1,000 yards passing on just 150 attempts and leads the team in rushing with 12 TDs.
The Saints are still mathematically alive in the Santa Fe League, but this one is a must win.
